Drawings

I feel like I've had a very productive art week so far... I finished the Intentions 2017 mixed media piece yesterday. YIPPEE! (You can see the art in the post here.) 

I am excited about starting a new mixed media project tomorrow... but TODAY was the day to work on the Diva Challenge #299 "Drawings." This tangle, pronounced draw wings, was released by Zentangle® headquarters over the holidays. This was the first opportunity for me to sit down and play with it. I adore how it just flows... the basic set up reminds me a bit of the pattern, fengle. As I drew the first set... I realized I liked the idea of individual pieces floating in hopes of joining the set. It's a "Gatherwings."

I am so happy to be submitting before the last day for once! PLUS... two weeks in a row I participated!! YAYYYYYY! 

Besides getting some time in my studio, I've been allowed to start walking Clark again. FINALLY! Today was gorgeous and as we walked I noticed that his shadow made him a BIG dog... It made me chuckle that the size he THINKS he is was showing.

There's always time to play...

I played with Clark in the backyard while Norm and Cami went to watch a scary movie together. I'm not one for scary movies and I think it's really nice for them to have their own time. It was a very exciting day. We ordered my new car!! It will arrive late May/early June. I'm thrilled and nervous at the same time! Did I choose the right color? Right options? You can make yourself crazy!

I had already decided on a different picture for today's photo when I saw my babies snuggling. I took the shot to see if it was going to work... Most of the time they move when they sense the camera! This time no movement... It was perfect!

Cami got exciting news today... She was accepted to Joffrey West summer intensive! Mia Michaels is one of the master instructors! She has now been accepted to 7 different programs... It's going to be a tough decision!

It's really hard to believe that it's January... We've had May weather since before Christmas! Another day in the mid 70's... 

I caught Cami resting outside with Clark for a few minutes after school today. A little break in her busy daily schedule.

Today was another beautiful day with temperatures in the 80's! We've had weather like that since Christmas.

Clark got stress colitis when we left him for a few days while we were out of town. Now he's all better and begging to play, as usual!!

It's been awhile...

I've missed this little space... This space to journal and record projects, events, ideas... I know the space has always been here... it's me who's gone missing! Well... here I am! :)

What's going on? ... I've been enrolled in a digital SLR photography class for the last three weeks. I am LOVING it! It's called "Oh Shoot!" and the instructor is Candice Stringham.  It's been terrific! I am taking that leap from only using my fancy camera in Automatic mode to the BIG "M!" I just completed Week 3... This is the week we made the jump to full manual. I've taken lots of photos... Practicing! Here are my favorite three from the week!
