Teaching again!

It felt so good to teach my first class since moving to Las Vegas. My heart was happy to share the Zentangle®️ method once again. It always brings me such joy!
Since the very first class I taught over 5 years ago, I have created pieces of art for each student with their name calligraphed. It is part of my meditation as I prepare for class… thinking of each student… and drawing love and peace, slowly and deliberately into the tile with each mark of the lovely ink. It is my gift of welcome, and my hope that this first class shows each of them the potential for this method to assist them with whatever it is that they need in their life. It may be something like: learning to relax, a way to manage pain/anxiety/insomnia, developing artistic skills, believing in yourself/building confidence in your abilities, learning to think creatively/problem solving… the applications are definitely widespread!
I really enjoyed getting everything set up for class. It was fun to figure out the new space and how I wanted it all to work. Here’s a few photos of the set up:
I recorded a video as I drew/calligraphed each students individualized piece of art. It was fun to have that playing as everyone arrived and got settled in.
Here’s the class mosaic! I always enjoy seeing each person’s individuality, and how they all fit together so beautifully.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group to get my teaching feet wet again! The time flew by, and way too quickly I was saying goodbye to newly made friends.
It was a wonderful warm welcome to teaching in Las Vegas! I am grateful to each of my students!
